Flowers are blooming and so is fashion
Well, NYC fashion week is over but its ok because they left behind many new trends to try out this spring/summer. There have been some comebacks which I'm very happy about because although your not suppose to I have become attached to previous trends, any ways before I start to babble lets get started!
Before you start reading I'm going to go total after school special on you and say that trends are just that, trends. There for you to take the ones you like and incorporate them into your own style in a way that works for you. Don't ever wear something that makes you uncomfortable or that you don't like because someone some where put it on a model and sent her walking down the runway. There's a long line between fashionable and trendy. Ok now seriously, on with it!

Ok, this was one of those trends that I wanted to love but just couldn't. When I saw those models walking down the Chanel runway I could not imagine pairing those things with anything I owned. So what changed my mind? well, I got curious and used my best friend (Google) to see what other designers have re-created these shoes and thats when I found them. Alaxander Wangs leapord printed version of the clogs putting them on my got to have it list this spring.
Short shorts
Who wears short shorts? We do! Yes ladies the winter is over so show some skin. Super short short's and mini skirts have made it on the runway and after some long months of jeans and leg warmers how can we not be happy. The cut that is most seen are hot pants or tap shorts just a twist on a staple piece.
Tips:
- If you're looking for something new try a boy short cut. If you don't enjoy the pain of waxing try Veet or a hair removal cream.
- Tinted moisturizer goes on more evenly then spray tan and looks more natural so does gradual tanner.
- For red carpet shiny legs try an oil (like coconut), baby gel, or lotion with shimmer in in it.
High dress splits
Showing skin seems to be in this this time around. Prom season coming up? To turn some heads try a long sleek dress with a super high split for a chic twist on an old classic.
Future warrior
Think military mixed with tribal, can you say ultimate style. Keep in mind this trend is not for the timid so accesorize with confidence.
Knee high socks, thigh high socks, and over the knee socks
First they bejewled them and now they replace the need for pants. Well, socks have absolutly made a path for them selves in the world of high fashion. How to wear these puppies? Well, the great thing about these sock is that it fits so many personalities. So you can layer them, sparkle them up, cut them out, wear them over stockings, even put some pins or studs down the front for an edgy vibe.
Bow headbands
I'm happy to say they've made a comback but dont be afraid to go a little bigger and dramatic.
Bonus: These are so easy to make if you can see what I'm getting at.
Jumpsuits
When I saw this it brought back terrible memories of pigtails and jean jumpers but I was shocked to see a chic twist to my childhood horrors. You just might see some jumpsuits in my closet this season.
Printed pants
We all went through the colored skinny jeans phase but its time to move on to bigger and better things. Prints are taking the runway by storm and soon the city streets.
Boyfriend blazers
Who could forget the trend that had us pulling out clothes from our boyfriends closet (or the mens section in forever21)? I'm so excited that its not gone just yet because I have some great ideas for rocking these blazers with the newest(and oldest) trends.
Distressed jeans
Another comeback, basically the same thing as last time but this spring get bolder with bigger rips and tears.
Chill out and remain neutral
This spring your inner wear has become fashionable. Go for a casual look with sweats and sporty clothing. Instead of your normal suit and tie lay off the put together vibe and throw on some baggy pants, a huge blazer, and some kick butt stilettos. If your not a glitzy girl solid neutral colors are also in style. In my opinion this is perfect because with a neutral color you can do anything without over powering your outfit.
What recession?
Fashion knows of no such thing, luxurious colors like metallics and ultra shine made the list along with feathers. In fear of looking like a bird try a feathered headband or jewlery first.
Cut out clothing
Love. This. Look. Makes something boring absolutly alluring plus you can totally do it yourself.
School girl chic
Don't be mistaken. This trend is not full on prepster. Think early Britney Spears mixed with high fashion.
Sheer fabrics
What did I tell you about showing skin. If you go to a school that just does not understand fashion( like moi) try layering another piece of fabric under the sheer material. Same effect but school friendly.

I heart your socks!
Well I don't know about you guys but here in NYC the temperature feels like 0 and looks like frozen hell. However I'm keeping my spirits up and my latte close because hope is in the air. Yes, NY fashion week is coming to town and boy we can't wait. Time to pull out the stilettos and cameras because I have a feeling the runway is going to be hotter than usual. Anyways has anyone seen those crystallized socks by Miu Miu, oh yea their as fabulous as they sound. The socks were featured on the runway in September paired with other crystallized bags and clothing and have been getting quite a lot of buzz. As if we needed another reason to love Miu Miu, just in case there it is.
Your probably drooling over their awesomeness and dieing to know where to get a pair. Well the socks can be found and bought at the usual spots to pick up Miu Miu stuff( Bloomingdale's, Saks, Bergdorf Goodman... etc.) but for those of us who are not so willing to shell out the hundred's of dollars in exchange for the socks I feel a DIY video coming up so stay tuned.

Kristen Stewart incorporates this punk-rock and roll look in her outfits. Black and white are an essential color palette, among other dark and neutral colors. You can also find lots of studs in her look!
Nothing yells more punk and rock than skinny jeans. White and black work fine, but you can also incorporate fun colors like yellow, red and bright blue!
A key aspect in this look is hardcore boots and a heavy shoulder-padded jacket. A fun thing to do is incorporate fun tights, like this punk style skeleton leggings.

Abbey Lee is an Australian model that has become one of the most known faces in the cat walk. Abbey Lee is best known for her laid back style, tattoos, hair and interesting set of teeth.
Abbey was born in Melbourn, Australia and became a model when she won Australia's CoverGirl competition. She is currently in the top 15 models (ranked number 13) in the modeling industry.
Abbey Lee was model of New York Fashion Show 2009 and modeled in the 2009 Victoria Secret Fashion show!

Review - Shirt.Woot

Shirt.Woot is an awesome site for buying clothes. They have a new t-shirt up every day for ten dollars (including US shipping), and the shirts are usually pretty fantastic; the vast majority of my shirts come from there. You can also, for $15, order shirts from past days (the ones that have sold the best, I believe). The quality is really good, and the material is super soft! The only thing that I can see being a problem is that they don't ship to quite everywhere.
