Reader’s Review: Hanson

Hey! I wanted to recommend the newest HANSON album. Everyone only thinks of Hanson as that cutesy band that wrote "mmmbop," but they're all married with kids now, and their sound has definitely matured as well. Their new single "Thinkin 'bout Somethin" is the catchiest song I've heard in a long time!! The video is so cute and fun, and it's a tribute to the movie The Blues Brothers. The entire CD, Shout It Out, is amazing. I definitely recommend people to give it a chance. here's a link to the music video:

How Do Vinyls Work?

This weekend I got a record player for my birthday. For a couple of years now, I have been collecting records but never thought about actually buying a record player to play them until I got one for my birthday! I never really knew how they worked but I found some quick videos to give us the break down on how records are made!

ACL Line Up 2010

Austin City Limits (ACL) is an annual music festival held in Austin, Texas that showcases upcoming bands and artists from Friday to Sunday. Two years ago, a fan of ACL states, "I remember in 2007, at a small tent hearing the vocalist saying, "Hi, we're a band from Tennessee." They played again next year, and on the third year their name was on the headline, Kings Of Leon." ACL is a great festival to discover new bands, and this year the three day passes for the event sold out in 90 minutes, a record high for any music festival in the country! This year, your Music Mania columnist, Ivette will be attending, so future Music Mania Updates will surround the artist and news involved in ACL! A Reader’s Suggestion

Hey! Well, I pretty much like any types of music, and a wide variety of artists. Lately I've been listening to a few bands that aren't as big as I think they should be. First one is Breathe Carolina. They are great! They mix different styles together such as pop, techno, rap, and screamo. I recommend "The Birds and The Bees", "Dressed Up To Undress", & "Can I Take You Home?" Another great band is Sparks The Rescue. I suggest "We Love Like Vampires" and "Autumn" Lastly, try giving Mayday Parade a listen to. ALL their songs are excellent! :D

A Reader’s Suggestion

I'm not sure whether I've recommended this guy or not, but Hank Green is amazing. His songs are about pretty random things, and they don't sound the same at all (which I personally think is pretty impressive). I've shown several people (including my brother, my mother, my sister, and my fiance) songs of his, and there's basically a consensus that his music is awesome. One of his best songs, in my opinion, is "A Song About an Anglerfish", which you can find here:
