Ever wanted to know more than what's on the bio of a certain columnist? Well this is place to get to know the inner-workings of the hard working staff members of PurplePJs!
Anna - Columnist for How To and Saturday Editor
Often PurplePJs will have a couple of staff members who seem to be everywhere, whether covering other pages or doing a couple of pages of their own. Well, one such chameleon staff member is Anna!
She started her tenure here at School Girl, and during that time was also nominated, then selected to be an Editor. But that didn't stop her helping out many other Columnists with their pages if they needed someone to temp for them! And it was during this time that she found a love for How To, so it's not surprising that she requested to change to that page when it became available again. But that's her PurplePJs career so far, and no doubt you all want to know who she really is!
Anna is one of the few Australians working on the site! She's 20 years old and lives with her family (dad, mum and a brother) and has a pet goldfish named Google. She's had a recent job change, so she's now a receptionist for a property development company (maybe there's an idea for a new How To? 'How to answer phones professionally'?
) and if she's not there, you could probably find her at the gym. Just like any young adult, weekends are made for hanging out with friends, but Anna also attends Church on Sundays for two different roles - she looks after the school kids during the morning service, and then plays piano for the evening service! One fun little fact about Anna is that she's keeps secrets immensely well, just don't talk to her about the secret you told her as she's likely to have forgotten!
She says the best advice she's ever been given by someone is "to not take any crap from anyone", or well, not 'given' in that sense as she learned it from Johnny Depp (who just happens to be her favourite actor!). And if you ask Anna 'why is Anna, Anna?', then you'll likely get a smart alec comment like, "Well... if I wasn't Anna... I'd be someone else", but then she'll get serious and tell you, "But I am Anna because... it took me a while to realise that you can't live your life trying to be someone you're not, so I've just... become me
".

The Interview!
PurplePJs: How did you find PurplePJs, and what page was the first you found?
Anna: I was at a bit of a rough patch in my life and I was looking for advice online and the most obvious place to go would be to teen e-zines and I found PPJs via Google. The first page, umm... I don't really remember... but I started off reading Big Sister and Ask a Guy and then gradually started visiting and reading the other pages
PurplePJs: What are your favourite pages?
Anna: I may be a bit biased here, but I love Fitness Farm and Ask a Guy is another one I always check out. I do read all the pages when they are updated though.
PurplePJs: Which page do you like least?
Anna: Um... I'm not too sure, I don't really NOT like any pages, they're all good to read!
PurplePJs: How long have you been a part of the PJs staff, and where did you start?
Anna: I started on the 7th of December, 2006, on School Girl, then I became Saturday editor a year later and then changed to How To not too long ago.
PurplePJs: What made you apply for School Girl?
Anna: Well, one it was an open page and I figured I had some experience for it, as I'd been though school plus some of college, and I love learning new things too
. So it sounded like a perfect page.
PurplePJs: Would you have been disappointed if you hadn't been selected for the page? And how many times did you apply?
Anna: I don't think I would have been disappointed, because I didn't expect to get it! And then I got an email from Christie saying I'd got it! It was a surprise.
PurplePJs: What have been some of the best memorable moments at PJs for you?
Anna: I cant really think of anything big! It's all been fun.
PurplePJs: What is the one thing you most want to do? And do you think you'll ever do it?
Anna: One of my dreams, ever since college, is to start up an online magazine for Christian girls... I mean, there are only a few Christian magazines operating in Australia, much less any for teens, and do I think I will ever do it... maybe one day when I get my act together.
PurplePJs: Describe yourself in five words.
Anna: Crazy, random... but still responsible!
PurplePJs: If you were an animal, what would you be and why? (Breed and colour count too!)
Anna: I'd be a horse... they're so gentle but still so strong. I'm going to be a patriotic Aussie and go for Brumby and black.
PurplePJs: Do you like that your name is a palindrome? [Where a word reads the same forwards as backwards.]
Anna: Not really... it sounds the same either way... BOR-RING!!
PurplePJs: If you could change your name, what would you change it to and why?
Anna: I'd change it to Eden, firstly because I love that name, it sounds so peaceful, and secondly because it sounds funny if you say it backwards... unlike "Anna"
PurplePJs: How would you say it backwards? "ned-ee" "nee-dee" "nay-d" ???
Anna: "Ned-ee", so the first one
PurplePJs: Anything else you'd like to tell us?
Anna: I know this is cliche, but one of the things I'd wish that I'd realised earlier on in life is that as a person, everyone has worth... and you shouldn't let anyone treat you any less
