Decor Room
Ever had the idea of doing some kind of interior design course when you're older? Or maybe you've already starting decorating every room possible in your house? Or perhaps you're after some inspiration! If so, then this page is for you! This is THE place to share all those tips and tricks for making every room as great as it can be!
Hey! This week we're on the totally awesome new re-vamped PurplePJs!!! Hope you enjoy the update!!!
I feel your pain...
Chocoholic, I feel your pain. My mom finally decided I grew too old for my furniture when I was fourteen, but she insisted that I get wooden furniture, and not a very nice brown! I already despised my wall color, which she had chosen as well, when I was ten. I was finally able to change my wall color, and now I like it. It was hard to choose because I wanted so many different colors, but I have three walls which are baby blue-ish and one light gray one. I wish she would've let me change the furniture, though, because it would look nicer. I had my hopes up a few times when she promised (I even made designs and chose things!), but it always ended the other way. I'm just glad I got rid of that horrible wall color. I will be able to change everything next time, hopefully when it's time for me to go to college. I don't think it's a good idea to paint your walls a bright color, though. It would be too much. You could do one wall in a bright color, and the rest in a calmer tone. Or if you can, you can have one main color, and then some bright stripes on the edge, if you know what I mean. You could also just have a calm tone on your walls, but have some other things in a bright color. A bright lampshade, maybe? Make some frames, paint them in bright colors, put some pictures in them, and hang them crazily on your walls. Etc. Do send us pictures, please! Oh, and by the way, the horrible color was off-white, or at least that's what my mom says it is, even though I insist that is beige (which it is!).
If I could change ONE thing...
If I could change anything in my room, I would definitely choose completely redecorating, all by myself. I'd love to get some furniture and just change it to the way I want it, change the door and paint a scenery or anything else on it, and also paint the wall crazily, with maybe one wall that has a mural. Everything, all done by me. Something that really says ME. I wish...
I would like to change my colours. I hate my colours. :p Everything else is okay, but my colour needs to change. Either that, or my furniture. I'd really like it to all match, and come from PBTeen.
Nautical Theme...
I want to redo my room to make it somewhat of a nautical/beach theme, and I was hoping for suggestions. I don't want to paint my walls (they're a light purple/grey color) and I have a wooden floor. I don't want to overdo the theme, either.

I'm Truffles, I'm 14 years old and I love PPJs. I've been visiting PPJs for about 2 years and I jumped at the chance to be an Columnist. My interests include art design, reading, surfing the net, and rollerskating. My greatest love is singing, and I do that very often. I enjoy singing and dancing and are a part of my school's show choir. I'm an aunt to 2 boys and 1 girl and they take up a lot of my free time. I'm an honors student in school and I'm in 8th grade this year (yay). I have to take Geometry at the high school though and it's fun, but hard. Umm yeah, my life is pretty boring, but PPJs has changed that and I love being a columnist!
Truffles's comment: To not make it seem like the theme is the MAIN thing in your room, you can use colors. White and navy-blue would fit in perfectly as the theme. Maybe add some beach accents, some things that would remind you of ships and such. Since you don't really want it to be the theme that takes over your room, my advice isn't much. Although, I do like the color of your walls for the theme, so it's good that you're keeping it.
